You have an Idea, for a product will service people. Now it is time to visualize it and put it in writing. This step is where you freely write whatever comes to mind. The idea is to let go and throw everything that comes to mind and discuss it over a beer. But you have to write down the ideas that are pointed out. This is very important.

Once all the beer is off the table and everyone is excited it is time to read and drill down the idea’s.

Example Questions / Vocabulary to use in this stage.

Go over each point and use the below vocabulary to get you started clearing the idea’s and understanding where you are at with your idea.

Why

Can you explain what you mean?

Is this a service? Explain to me how you would use it.

How would use it?

Do we need to look more into this point? Why? What are we looking for?

Do you all agree to take this point off the list?

How do you know when to go to the second level in the process of a successful project? I have put together a check list.

Checklist for Top Level Requirements

Is there a defined vision of what developing?

There are no questions opened that are not answered?

Is the business process written and logical.

Where there people from different angels that took part?

Is there an answer to how you market the product?

In the group there is defined roles to everyone?

Everyone is agreeing with the above.

After you have gone through the check list you will have the feeling that you have something worth developing, if you do not. Stop and have another run of brainstorming in the top level. The idea is that you move to the second level with a strong vision of what you want to develop.
